Who is Butler’s Blooms?

My name is Liv Butler, I am the owner and the florist behind Butler’s Blooms. I started my business in the spring of 2024 during my freshman year of high school. Since then, I have been a member of my FFA chapter’s floral team, which I spend time competing in contests around the state of California. In March of 2025, I won my first belt buckle at the Gridley FFA Field Day. Since 2024, I have been making floral arrangements for various occasions such as homecoming, prom, senior picture, etc. All of my skills I have learned from competing in contests and from my floral teacher. I plan to continue my business after high school opening a store front in the future.

Other exciting things within my business are I have received a grant from National FFA for my business. This has opened so many more opportunities for my business by me being able to purchase more supplies and even a fridge for flowers. I am beyond grateful for all of the support and opportunities I have been given to improve and grow my business.

As well, I have even been able to expand my services and skills being able to offer more to customers!

My FFA Journey

Freshman Year

At the beginning of the year, I did not want anything to do with a floral class. Then, in the spring, I found out about the floral CDE (Career Development Event) team, wishing I had taken floral to be on the team. After finding out I could be on the team without any prior knowledge, I jumped right in. Putting in lots of hours studying and trying to catch up on skills, I developed a passion for floral design. Through contest season, my team and I struggled to qualify at contests for design rounds, but then at Cal Poly State Finals we finally qualified.

Sophomore Year

Continuing to put in the work, my team began to grow; we qualified at all contests and placed in the top 5 at some contests. As well at Gridley Field Day, I won a belt buckle for First High Individual. This year was a year of growth and resilience, not just for me but for my team.

Junior Year

Over the last year, I have accomplished many things within the FFA and with my business. This year, I received my FFA State Degree for my SAE (supervised agricultural experience) projects. Which consists of my business, market sheep, laying hens, and other smaller projects. As well, I received a grant from the National FFA to help improve my business. This grant changed my business by allowing me to expand and buy supplies I needed.

State Finals 2026

Over the last three years, my floral team has been competing at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo for State Finals. This year, my team and I fought for our title of Reserve State Champions. We could not have done this without our hard work and dedication as well as the guidance of our teacher, Ms. Albiani.
